Add resources

Judit -

NOTE: This feature is only available for users that have a multi-device version, that is, one with annual payment.

In the main menu you will see the option Resources, represented by a paperclip icon. This option will allow you to add any file in the application to link it wherever you wish afterwards, as well as to access the photo gallery, take a picture and record a video or audio at this very moment with the + button.

The process for the import and linkage of existing files is different depending on the device and platform used. Below we outline possible cases:

iPad

From any app in your iPad (in this case from Dropbox), select the Open In option (square icon with arrow pointing upwards) to choose Additio as destination application.

When you press the + button in Resources, you will be able to create a video, an audio or access the Photo Gallery. If you want to import existing files, you will have to follow the steps detailed above.

Android smartphone and tablet

The import of files in the application can be done from the same Resources section or directly from its location.

To do so, press the + button and the following options will appear:

If you press the Add Resources option, you will be able to import existing files stored in the device, email or any other file hosting application, such as Dropbox.

Web version

To import files from your computer, you have to access the Resources option in the main menu and press the + button.

A pop-up window will appear, in which you will be able to choose how you want to upload them: whether by selecting existing files saved in your device, or by adding a link.

If you choose the first option you will notice that, once you have chosen the files, they will be charged. Green indicates that the file has been successfully uploaded, whereas blue means it is still processing. Press OK to see them in the Resources section.

NOTE: If the files are highlighted in red, it means that they haven’t been correctly uploaded. This can be due to an incorrect format, an error during the update or insufficient storage space.

If you want to add a link, complete the fields Name and Url and, finally, press the Add Link button. Press OK to see them in the Resources section.

Below we explain how to link the resources in the application:

NOTE: Although we will from now on show screenshots from an iPad, the procedure will be the same in all the platforms.

In the Resources option in the main menu you will see how the list increases with all the resources you import. These will be sorted alphabetically but you can also filter them with the browser, which is located in the upper part of the screen.

You will be able to preview the attached files by clicking on the icon or their thumbnail (depending on the type of file). You will also be able to share it, send it by email, rename it or delete it with the gear button.

Once the file has been saved in Resources, you will be able to link it wherever you want: the Class journal, in a note, a cell, a column, a student’s card... The linking procedure is always the same and must be done from the destination location, that is, where you want to attach it.

In the case of the Class Diary and the Notes, you will see a paperclip icon and the button Save below.

When you press on it you will see the resources that have been linked so far in this section and add new ones with the + button.

If you want to link it to a Student’s card, you will have to click on its name, select the Resources option and, finally, Link resources.

In Resources you will be able to see the linked files, as well as to share them, send them by email, rename them and unlink them with the gear button.

To assign them to a column or cell, a long press is required; then you will have to select the Resources option and follow the previously detailed steps. Once it has been linked, you will see the paperclip icon so that you can easily identify it.

NOTE: Android devices typically offers the possibilty to save data and apps into two storage areas: the internal memory and the external memory.

Normally everything is stored in the internal memory of the device, causing that you can easily run out of memory space and consequently, not be able to install more apps or save files.

To solve this problem, in Settings you will find the Save the resources in... option that will allow you to choose where you want to save the resources linked from your Android device.

There are some devices that only have internal memory, that's the reason why Internal memory option is checked by default.
